Pairing Aloha Kona Coffee with Food
If you enjoy coffee as much as we do at Aloha Kona Coffee it is nice to
pair our coffee with complementary foods to bring out the best flavors in
each.
In this day and age it is hard to find time to spend with our families.
One way to bring everyone together is to brew a fresh pot of Aloha Kona
Coffee and make batch of piping hot banana muffins. The wonderful aroma
will get everyone's attention! On Sunday mornings nothing is better then
sitting around with a cup of coffee and muffin while enjoying spending time
with your family and friends. Coffee and food is a great way to bring people
together.
Banana muffins pair a few of the things that complement the flavors in Kona
Coffee, such as: cinnamon, cream cheese, butter, caramel, and maple.
Best Ever Banana Muffins:
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Teaspoon baking soda
- 1 Teaspoon baking powder
- 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt
- 3 Cups mashed banana
- 3/4 Cup sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 cube butter
- 1/2 Cup packed brown sugar
Frosting:
- 1 package Cream Cheese
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon maple syrup
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Makes 12 jumbo muffins.
- Mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, beat together bananas, sugar, egg and butter. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon butter into prepared muffin cups.
- Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the muffin comes out clean. Altitudes and oven temperatures effect the time of baking, be sure the muffins are firm to the touch and nice and brown.
- In a small bowl, mix together brown powdered sugar, cream cheese and 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. Frost the muffins once cooled.
- For a fancy decoration you can drizzle the top of muffins with Caramel or top with finely chopped macadamia nuts.
- Brew a fresh pot of Aloha Kona Coffee to serve with muffins. Enjoy!
