Coffee-drinking Habits

Coffee - the Evolution and Revolution

Do you start your day with a steaming cup of coffee? If so, you are not alone. Nearly 80% of Americans drink coffee every morning. Gone are the days scooping pre-ground, coffee grinds out of a can. Today more and more discerning Americans want an aromatic, warm cup of quality 100% Kona coffee - not the kind of coffee my grandma makes that is thick and could possible pass as paint cleaner. I love my grandma but her coffee often doesn't even taste like coffee to me, if is so acidic and has such a bit that I can't drink it.

There are other extremes too - like my well loving uncle who is very into his health, and is always frothing up a new kind of foam to top off his coffee creations, under the guise of "health benefits", of course. A few years back he was into goats' milk lattes, and more recently we were treated to soy-coconut milk lattes. The one consistent factor through all his foam and froth is the good quality coffee he uses in his espresso machine. It makes all the unusual topping fun, although obsolete, I do like his funny drinks. If it starts with Aloha Kona Coffee, I know it will be good, but I prefer a simple cup of coffee - hold the funny, frothy foams and new organic syrups, please :)

My husband and I are a little more conventional, and we enjoy a good old-fashioned pot of coffee every morning, and some afternoons, too. We do not have a fancy grinder or coffee maker, but we do use fresh ground Aloha Kona Coffee beans, and the flavor is unsurpassed. A cup of black coffee is always wonderful, but if you want to add a little something special to a cup of "joe", instead of milk and sweetener, add brown sugar and heavy whipping cream. Yum! Any cup of coffee that uses Aloha Kona Coffee beans is always great. Most Americans agree that a good cup of 100% Kona coffee is a key way to starting off a great day!
