Coffee Activities

Coffee Culture

In the past few decades' coffee has become the king of beverages. Coffee houses and cafes around the world are now the widely excepted places to meet to discuss business or sit and visit. It is not so much about grabbing a coffee and leaving, the "coffee break" has become so popular, that it is commonplace to sit down and enjoy a latte for the better part of an hour, and to enjoy the coffee and company and not just run out the door. Java gives us a moment to pause in our busy day and maybe even enjoy the moment.

I am always pleasantly surprised when I see every seat in a cafe in use, and the hub of activities that thrive around an afternoon "cup of Joe". Gone are the days that we drink coffee strictly in the mornings to help us wake, it is now almost a culture or way of life for busy people, and offers a temporary relieve from a hectic day. Most people sipping on their midday lattes are good at multitasking, if you glance around the tables at your local coffee house you are sure to see college students doing homework, business meetings and phone calls, and array of friends gathered to enjoy a moment together. Many of those special little moments in life are centered around enjoying a cup of coffee.

Personally, I love to sit down at my kitchen table around 3 p.m. and make a small pot of Aloha Kona Coffee, before I rush out to pick up the kids and take them to swimming or karate. It is a proven fact that caffeine in coffee will give you a much-needed pick-me-up. All of our lives are so hectic these days that sometimes that afternoon sip from my coffee cup is quiet literally the only moment of piece I get in the course of a day.

It is no longer "PC" or socially acceptable to meet at a bar for a few cocktails, especially, if there is driving involved. Sometimes meeting for lunch can take too long and is just to expensice. If you cannot get away to meet, a perfect compromise is having my best friend over for a quick pot of Aloha Kona Coffee. You do not have to cook a meal, just put on a pot of coffee and take an hour out of your day to visit with a friend. When my husband asks me to "grab a cup of coffee" it is often the only time in the day that we really get to talk to each other. Life is busy but thank goodness for the coffee break!
